Job SummaryPerform gas utility construction work activities
according to classification. Essential Functions
- Perform pipefitting and welding on gas facilities using the
Shielded MetalArc Welding(SMAW) (stick), Semi-Automatic Gas
Metal-Arc Welding (GMAW) (wire), and Oxy-Acetylene cutting.
- Perform gas utility construction work activities according to
classification.
- Satisfactorily complete all training and Operator
Qualifications requirements of the classification.
- Will be required to operate equipment used to perform main
installs, service installs, leak investigations, and leak surveys.
Education Description
- Requires a high school diploma or GED. Experience
- Requires a valid driver's license.
- Requires two (2) years Welding and Cutting experience using
SMAW, GMAW and Oxy-Acetylene cutting and welding on piping
systems.
- Requires two (2) years Performed welding and cutting operation
in related industry, utilizing various welding processes.
- Capable of physically and mentally working on gas facilities -
Able to learn safety rules associated with job duties and follow
same.
- Must be available to work overtime.
- Post-Secondary Vocational Welding Education preferred.
- Technical Trade School (with instruction on ASME or API code
welding) preferred.
- Mechanical Trade Union Welder Training Program preferred.
- Has various welding certifications applicable to Natural gas
industry preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) Years' experience in the natural gas
industry performing welding and pipefitting preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) Years' experience pipefitting welding in a
Mechanical trade. (Plumbers and Pipefitters) preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in related Welding and
